Based on a Swedish design, but featuring an entirely new Hungarian turret, the 40M Nimrod self-propelled anti-aircraft gun mounted a 40mm Bofors autocannon, and was designed from the outset to engage both aircraft and tanks! As increasingly heavily armoured Soviet vehicles came into service, the 40mm gun became less effective in the anti-tank role, but remained absolutely devastating against soft-skin vehicles, aircraft, and infantry.
